Experience Sweet LaLa’s
By: Lauren Young, Founder of Sweet LaLa’s Bakery
Coming together feels even more important now that we have experienced the emotions and shock of the pandemic. When I created Sweet LaLa’s Bakery, I had a vision of bringing people together around our large family table. I thought it would hold the special moments, such as Saturday mornings with the kids, maybe a planning meeting for the school leaders or providing the space for conversations to advance the 901 community. Our upstairs space was built for birthday decorating parties, bridal and baby showers, and even corporate breakfast meetings.
Sadly, it became so quiet in this space as Covid cast its shadow of uncertainty. I wondered if the world would ever feel the same again. I wondered if this space could hold the happiness we had intended for it.
Change is an experience I don’t usually enjoy. Owning a bakery, however, allows you to embrace change in a different way. Dull, unlike ingredients, mix together to make something magical, such as a gorgeous cake. Putting dough through the fire creates the necessary change to become a delicious, soft cookie. Colors mix together to make new colors. Cookie cutters can be flipped upside down to become an entirely new design idea.
We invite you to experience the change we get to be a part of daily. We invite you to find joy in discovering new ways of looking at things. There is a lot to experience here at Sweet LaLa’s Bakery, so we challenge you to experience it all. Whether you are here partying in our store or enjoying a cinnamon roll from the comforts of your own space, be happy with us. Let’s Make Life Sweeter.
