The August Breeze
| We took full advantage of the summer and it’s hard to believe school is back in session. It’s been quite the hot summer! When welcoming the cooler temperatures of fall, we expect a good August breeze and a fresh wind is what we will want in our newest location opening soon! We are expanding our brand! The Front Porch is under construction and planning for a November 8th grand opening. Inside, we are building out a new space called Second Helpings Cafe. Located at Perkins and Walnut Grove Road on the campus of Second Baptist Church, The Front Porch will be a welcoming, hospitable place with an indoor and outdoor event center. We are proud to neighbor in the space with Milla’s House, a Baptist Center for Good Grief program designed to serve free grief counseling weekly for those who need it. In addition, there will be small offices used by like minded organizations, helping to heal and strengthen our community one meeting at time. If interested, there are still offices left and we’d love to have you as a neighbor! We have always believed food and community create a powerful connection. With groves of trees, outdoor green spaces and a beautiful park like setting in the heart of Memphis, we know Second Helpings Cafe will become your new favorite place to unwind with a friend or grab coffee and food on the go. Second Helpings Cafe will open alongside of the Grand Opening of The Front Porch with a limited menu. Then we will officially open in January with a full scale menu, including coffee, breakfast and lunch options as well as sweet treats! We hope you will click on the links below and hear first hand how The Front Porch came to life with a mission to create a place where people belong. As for Sweet LaLa’s Bakery, we will continue to create our incredible pastries, desserts and treats and expand our offerings to include some of the new things you will see at Second Helpings Cafe. Our front of house team has WOW’d us with new drink specials. With the hot temperatures, we are loving the Iced Blueberry Lemonade and our newest Strawberry Matcha. Our Brown Butter Krispy Treat Iced Latte will continue to be on the menu for a limited time. Thank you to all of our supporters in the Edible Memphis ChampionSip!
