We are 10!

Happy 10th Birthday to us!  I never dreamed when our website went live on December 1, 2014 we’d be saying we have literally baked over a million products.  The dream was to tell stories of change to help young people trapped in the juvenile justice system and help them find their way forward.  Job training and workforce development allowed for meaningful work.  The reality is we have grown into one of the most robust sweet shops in Memphis, TN with a mission to make life sweeter one customer at a time.   John Young  aka Dr. Sprinkles is my longest standing employee.  We met just over 10 years ago when we began baking together.   He oversees the entire cookie production and has helped me grow our business from a tiny made to order online cookie business to a full scale retail storefront close to grossing $1M this year in sales.  

None of this has been possible if you, our loyal customers, had not shown up for us. I truly mean it when I titled this piece “Your Presence is Your Gift.” We bake every day because we love to share in the good stuff life offers.  If no one ordered ahead or walked through our doors, we could not make this dream continue.   With baking comes a lot of messes and a lot of clean up.  The past 10 years has brought all of the feelings.  We will be grateful for it all because it’s made us who we are.  

Over a dozen local and social enterprise vendors sit on our shelves and with your purchase, you help grow their brands and their stories.  We have over 30 employees who care daily about the quality of what we create and how you as our customer receive what we make.  We laugh a lot and we have cried a little, but through it all we have become better humans along the way.  We hope this season you will shop local with us and give generously because it does make a difference!
